After he became the lead singer of The Doobie Brothers in late 1975, back in 1982, Arista Records released "That Was Then, The Early Recordings Of Michael McDonald" on record & cassette & NOT on compact disc. In 1973, the late David Cassidy did a song called "Hold On Me" (written by Michael McDonald) on 1973 "Dreams Are Nuthin' More Than Wishes" which was the last song on side 2. On side 1, David sang "Opening Theme" (also written by Michael McDonald). The original "Hold On Me" is NOT on the Arista 1982 album though. By the way, Michael McDonald's "Wide Open" (from 2017) is his best CD since "If That's What It Takes" in 1982 & 71 minutes long!!

By the way, Michael is married to singer Amy Holland ("How Do I Survive?" in late 1980) (one hit wonder) back in late 1983 & still together!!!
