Traditionally, networks didn't spend very much money on advertising for Saturday Morning cartoons. In 1974, there were only three major networks so kids were somewhat of a captive audience. In July, the Networks would place commercials during their Saturday Morning lineup, or other programming geared towards youngsters to announce their new Fall Schedule. In addition, certain Networks would place ads in comic books and other kids' magazines in hopes of luring them to their shows. Here is the ad CBS placed in Harvey Comics, announcing their new schedule:
